2024-2025 Calendar & School Hours
The first day of school is Wednesday, August 7. GCSS will operate on a 178-day instructional calendar for the 2024-25 school year. This change from a full 180-day calendar is to provide more options for teacher workdays, professional development and short breaks in October, February and March. Below are graphic and text versions of the complete calendar.
School Hours
Starting in the 2024-2025 school year, elementary school students will begin class at 7:50 a.m. and end at 2:20 p.m. Middle school will start at 8:25 a.m. and end at 3:30 p.m., and high school classes will commence at 8:20 a.m. and conclude at 3:20 p.m. Previously, middle school students attended from 8:30 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., and high schoolers from 8:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
