Brett Baxter was named Teacher of the Year at Golden Isles Elementary. He has taught kindergarten for five years and was a special education paraprofessional for four years.

Who is your role model? My good friend Robbie Robinson is hardworking, self-motivated, and as kind and selfless a person as I have ever met.
What book has most influenced you? "Teach Like Your Hair's on Fire: The Methods and Madness Inside Room 56"
What is your greatest teaching memory? Sharing my love of surfing with students through a "Christmas Around the World" activity. We focused on Christmas in Australia and discussed the story "Santa’s Secret," where Santa is a surfer and gifts one lucky child his surfboard each year!
What is your favorite quote or personal motto? Today is a great day to have a great day!
What is a fact about you that most people don't know? I love surfing and snowboarding!
Any hidden talents or hobbies? I was a high school/college football kicker and I am an avid, self-taught Ukulele player.
