Throughout the month of October and November, we will be introducing you to the 2023-2024 Glynn County Teachers of the Year.
Michaela Atkinson-Walker was named Teacher of the Year at Burroughs-Molette Elementary School. She has taught first grade for two years and currently teaches 3rd grade Math, Science and Social Studies.

Family: I am married to Fredrick Walker, and I have 4 children – Kelan, Corey, Payton, and Carter.
Who is your role model? My parents and grandparents are my biggest role models because they provide insight every day, while allowing me to find my way in life.
What is your greatest teaching memory? My greatest memory was traveling to Disney World with my students to celebrate their success with the GMAS.
What is your favorite quote or personal motto? “Success is when potential meets opportunity.”
What is a fact about you that most people don't know? I am very shy.
