Who is your role model? Marie Curie. She was born in Poland but moved to France to attend The Sorbonne (University) because Russia did not offer a college education to women at that time. With her husband, they discovered two new elements. After his tragic death, she continued their work and went to win a second Noble Peace Prize this time on her own for her discoveries in radium.  During World War I she joined the Red Cross Radiology Service where she took over an estimated 1 million x-rays on wounded soldiers.  She is the founder of x-rays in medicine and dentistry.

What book has most influenced you? Proverbs.

What is your greatest teaching memory? I have so many great moments of teaching, but one of my favorite days is when my students receive college scholarships for either the Golden Rule Award or for their hard work ethic through the GICCA scholarship fund. Specifically, some young ladies that were awarded this scholarship were encouraged to continue their post-secondary education.

What is your favorite quote or personal motto? Only perfect practice makes perfect.

What is a fact about you that most people don't know? My Dad and I rebuilt a 1973 Ford Mustang that had a 351 Cleveland engine, and I worked at Auto Supply in college.

Any hidden talents or hobbies? I love to climb mountains and travel with my family. I have climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro and traveled the Inca trail to Machu Picchu. My boys, husband and I have gone dog sledding in Alaska and rafted the Grand Canyon.
