The Glynn County Health Department is offering walk-in service for children and teens who need vaccinations and screenings for the upcoming school year. Students entering kindergarten, 7 grade, and 11 grade must meet vaccination requirements or they can be denied school entry.
All students entering kindergarten, or entering a Georgia school for the first time, must have proof of vaccinations and must complete a vision, hearing, dental, and nutrition screening.
Students entering 7th grade need a Tdap booster and a meningitis vaccine. Students entering 11th grade need a meningitis booster for school attendance.
Immunizations and screenings are available without an appointment during regular clinic hours, including after the school and work day on Thursdays. The clinic is open:
- Monday-Wednesday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. Closed for lunch from 12-1 p.m.
- Thursday, 8 a.m. – 7 p.m. Closed for lunch from 12-1 p.m.
- Friday, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- The clinic is closed on the last business day of each month for inventory.
A parent or guardian must accompany the child to the clinic. Most insurance will be accepted, and a nominal administration fee will be charged for those without insurance. If parents have questions about vaccine requirements and eligibility, they can call the Glynn County Health Department at (912) 264-3961.
