Glynn Academy’s cross country teams kicked off their season with a pair of first-place performances this past Saturday at the Peach State Preview 2023 in Hazlehurst.
The Terrors’ boys team placed first out of 14 teams fueled by three top ten individual finishes.
Jackson Hunter raced to first place in a time of 16:40 with Max Wakeland following in second with a time of 17:27. Cole Albright placed sixth overall with a time of 18:17. Elliot Johnson and Gavin Sullivan also competed for Glynn Academy, finishing in 19:22 and 19:46, respectively.
The Terrors’ girls team were first out of 11 teams in the competition. Emma Hill took fourth overall with a time of 22:34, and Abigail Winford placed ninth with a time of 23:25. Austyn Gunderman also ran for Glynn, finishing in 25:02, Addi Morrow finished at 25:14, and Jenny Bors completed the race in 25:23.
Both of the Glynn Academy cross country teams will return to action Aug. 25, when they travel to Jacksonville to run in the Cecil Field Classic Summer Classic. The first race begins at 6:15 p.m.
