On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. During a total solar eclipse, the moon completely blocks the sun, causing the sky to become dark during the daytime.
Here in Glynn County, we will not be in the path of the total solar eclipse, but we will experience a partial solar eclipse between 1:49 p.m. and 4:21 p.m., with the darkest part of the day occurring at approximately 3:06 p.m.
With that in mind, Monday, April 8 is our first day back from spring break and will be a normal school day for our district. If you have questions, please contact your child’s school. We appreciate your continued support of Glynn County Schools and hope you have a great Spring Break!
