In a room filled with her peers from across the county and set against the picturesque backdrop of Jekyll Island, Ms. Laura Bersticker, a culinary arts instructor at Golden Isles College and Career Academy (GICCA), was named the 2024-2025 Glynn County Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Bersticker, who also serves as a Chick-fil-A consultant, has been recognized for her exceptional dedication to her students and her multifaceted contributions to the community. This award highlights her commitment to excellence in education and her passion for nurturing the next generation of culinary professionals.
Dr. Joseph Depenhart, principal and CTAE director, praised Ms. Bersticker’s unwavering dedication, stating, “Chef Laura is always sure to give her all to benefit her student’s lives. She is an instrumental part of the GICCA team and I am honored to work with her every day.”
The event, supported by Georgia Power, the Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce and a number of other sponsors, was a testament to the collaborative spirit and community support that make Glynn County a special place. The heartfelt speeches delivered by principals and school leaders underscored their dedication, passion, and advocacy for students and colleagues alike.
