Public Relations

The Department of Public Relations serves as a liaison between the school district and all areas of the community, promoting clear, open, transparent and responsive communication between schools and their respective stakeholders.

 

In addition to assisting schools with their communications needs, the Department of Public Relations directs system branding and messaging; provides important information to stakeholders; works daily with the media; and is responsible for public relations, marketing and community relations support for individual schools and departments.

 

We strive to develop positive relationships with our employees, students, parents, local businesses, elected officials and media representatives; provide our customers with accurate, timely and transparent information through a variety of communication tools; increase community awareness; promote our students and employees’ successes; and to build support and trust for public education.

 

Glynn County Schools is a reporter-friendly district and welcomes the opportunity to work with members of the media and our staff to increase awareness and build support for public education in Glynn County.

Open Records Requests & Open Meetings should be sent to the district's Open Records Office. Please note that the Public Relations Department is not the original point of contact for Open Records Requests, but may become involved as news media seek comment or clarification about information they have received through the ORR process.

 

 

The Department of Public Relations oversees district-wide internal and external communications, including district and school crisis communications; media relations; district newsletters for our staff and community; our public site,  www.glynn.k12.ga.us; and all GCSS social media. This office also produces annual publications, assists with coordinating GCSS events, and provides creative services to support schools and/or departments; including graphic design, brand oversight, and video production.
