Strategic Plan
The District Strategic Plan was developed with stakeholder involvement to establish priorities and determine initiatives to support the work of Glynn County Schools (GCS). Georgia's Systems of Continuous Improvement serves as the framework of the GCS District Strategic Plan, and provides consistency of practice in Board of Education meetings as well as other district and school-level meetings. The GCS District Strategic Plan is also aligned to the Cognia Key Characteristics and Performance Standards, and the Georgia Vision Project for Public Education's recommendations list.
Highlights of the process include:
- A comprehensive community engagement component to allow stakeholders to have a voice in the strategic improvement planning process, including an annual Comprehensive Needs Assessment
- A diverse planning team that represented stakeholder groups including members of the governance team, staff, parents, students, and other community leaders to develop the plan
- A facilitated planning process that assisted the planning and action teams in analyzing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the school district and developing/defining the mission, vision, beliefs, goal areas and elements of the strategic improvement plan
- A facilitated process to work with district-level leaders, school-level level leaders, and staff on developing initiatives and action steps to implement the plan
Our Strategic Plan is a part of our continuous improvement process, and as such is a living document. Progress on each objective is monitored and the status will be updated regularly.
