Long-term substitute teachers who are serving in vacant teaching positions (not working for teachers who are on leave) and who work 10 or more consecutive days in that same teaching position, are required to have a Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) issued Clearance Certificate.  

To be eligible to work as a long-term substitute, the individual must first be Board approved as a substitute, then complete the following requirements to obtain their Clearance Certificate:

For substitute teachers who hold no GaPSC Certification, please complete the following 4-steps:

1. Register for a MyPSC Account.  This is your own personal GaPSC account, and it is where any correspondence and assessment information will be housed.
2. Complete the Personal Affirmations questionnaire.
3. Register for the GACE Educator Ethics Assessment (GACE Test Code 360).
4. Complete the Substitute Review of Critical Issues, FY23. 

Taking and passing the Educator Ethics Assessment is a requirement.  It is inexpensive and the assessment can be taken on any computer that has internet access.

Once you have finished the Educator Ethics Assessment, you will receive a Completion Certificate.  Please email a copy of your certificate to our Certification Specialist, Mary Beth Brothers at marybeth.brothers@glynn.k12.ga.us. 

For substitute teachers who hold valid or expired GaPSC Certfication, please complete the following 3-steps:

1. Login to your MyPSC Account.  (If you do not have a MyPSC Account, click here to Register for a MyPSC Account.)
2. Complete the Personal Affirmations questionnaire.
3. Complete the Substitute Review of Critical Issues, FY23.
