Game Preview
Glynn Academy will go for a second straight victory in Region 1-AAAAAA when the Red Terrors visit Greenbrier on Friday night.
The Terrors will try to ride the positive momentum they created for themselves last Friday when they knocked off rival Brunswick High in the City Championship.
Glynn held the ball for the final 10 minutes of the game after the Pirates got within the 21-17 final score early in the fourth quarter. GA actually maintained possession of the ball for about 37 minutes of the 48-minute contest.
GA scored first and led 7-3 at halftime. The Terrors never trailed in the game, going up by 11 points on the Pirates twice in the second half.
Glynn went into last week’s game likely needing to win their remaining games to have any chance at making the 32-team playoff field in Class AAAAAA which will be set by the Postseason Rankings (PSR) for the first time this fall.
Glynn closes the season with region games against South Effingham and Grovetown after playing the Wolfpack on their home field this week.
The Terrors are ranked No. 37 in the rankings this week.
The other region teams currently inside the top 32 are Bradwell Institute (12), Effingham (16) and South Effingham (28). Brunswick is behind Glynn at No. 42. Greenbrier is No. 48 this week.
The Wolfpack are 2-5 on the season with a 1-3 league record. They lost their first two region games at South Effingham (28-21) and Brunswick (53-21) before toppling Grovetown (35-0) and losing at Bradwell (41-27) last Friday night.
